The rubric provides guidelines to help make tabs uniform and easy-to-read for all skill levels.
Common mistakes to avoid
Song Title: Do not add extra information. Use the checkboxes for “acoustic” or “live.” Mark “solo” or “intro” under the “whole song” section
Incomplete Sections: Ensure all measures, chords, lyrics, tuning, capo markings, and strings are complete and correct
Sharps and Flats: Avoid mixing sharps and flats if possible, as it interferes with the transposition function
Artist/Title Format: Use “Artist/movie/game name - Song title” with spaces on both sides of the en dash
Avoid duplicates
Tabs that duplicate existing versions will not be accepted
Search the archive to check for similar versions before submitting
If multiple similar tabs exist, the chance of acceptance is low
Use the transposition function or capo when possible instead of submitting a duplicate
Minimal changes should be submitted as corrections to an existing tab; corrections follow different standards
Provide a reason for acceptance
If there are multiple high-quality versions, provide a specific reason why your tab should be accepted
Avoid vague reasons such as “It’s better"
Request reconsideration
